After suffering its first loss of the season on Tuesday, Pathfinder Tech bounced back with a 2-1 victory over Monson on Saturday afternoon.
The Pioneers (4-1) were led by Brayden Mega, who struck out 11 batters in seven innings of work. Mega only allowed four hits and one run (not earned), all while not giving up a single walk.
Brody Wetnicka and Dayne Shanley made solid contributions for the Pioneers on the offensive end with an extra base hit apiece.
Austin Meacham also had a strong performance on the mound for the Mustangs (4-3), allowing four hits and two runs (none earned) while striking out eight batters and only giving up one walk. Meacham and teammate Shane Szado also notched two hits each in the losing effort.
Monson will look to bounce back when they host Palmer on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
The Pioneers have won four of their first five games and look to continue that hot streak when they host Gateway on Monday at 11:00 a.m.
