Bronny James started this season as the subject of lots of criticism, much of which was directed at his father, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. But as time has gone on, he has shown that he could have a future in the NBA after all.
Many attacked the elder James for allegedly pushing his son into the league and strong-arming the Lakers organization into drafting his son with the No. 55 pick in last year’s draft. While the younger James still isn’t ready for the big leagues, he was often impressive during the G League regular season, and now the narrative surrounding him has shifted to something more hopeful and positive.
Fans at Lakers games, both at home and on the road, have often chanted “We want Bronny” during garbage time, hoping the 20-year-old would be inserted into the game by head coach JJ Redick. He will be on the team’s 15-man playoff roster, so perhaps fans will get to see a tiny bit of him during the postseason.
