The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Oregon DT Derrick Harmon with the 21st pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft — and the Ducks defensive lineman was visibly emotional.
After speculation began to surround Harmon’s health in the lead-up to the big day, it was rumored the DT prospect could have fallen out of the first round entirely — but the Pittsburgh Steelers decided his talent was worth the risk.
At pick No. 21, Harmon was the fourth DT selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, after Browns DT Mason Graham, Dolphins DT Kenneth Grant, and Cardinals DT Walter Nolen.
Harmon was seemingly caught off guard by the draft — as his draw literally dropped during his draft day phone call — as did Steelers fans expecting to hear Shedeur Sanders name called out instead.
