Last week’s poll: Vote for lohud Player of the Week, sponsored by White Plains Hospital
Ashley Cindrich, North Salem
The junior attacker reached the 100-goal mark for her varsity career last week, putting in seven goals over two games. She had a pair of goals and an assist in a 7-5 loss to White Plains before burying five goals and adding an assist in a 15-14 win over Blind Brook. Her fifth goal in that game earned her the milestone mark.
Brooke Cohen, Blind Brook
The senior, who just started playing in goal this season, has looked every inch a seasoned veteran. Over a three-game span, she stopped 29 shots last week.
Taylor Green, Pelham
The senior attacker hit the 200-goal mark for her varsity career during a week that saw her score 14 goals and record four assists. She did that by scoring seven goals and adding two assists in a win over Hen Hud before again scoring seven goals and adding two assists in a loss to Yorktown.
Skylar Katz, Scarsdale
The junior attacker was a key cog, scoring four goals and registering two assists as the Raiders recorded their first win of the season, edging Brewster 11-10.
Brooke Koffler, Hackley
Over a three-game period last week, the senior midfielder netted 17 goals to raise her season total to 3o over five games. She had five assists and beat opponents to 31 balls off the draw over those three games. And she also stood out defensively. She intercepted six passes and, assigned to cover Poly Prep’s best player in an eventual 7-5 Hackley win, she limited that player to just one goal.
Cassidy Lewis, Putnam Valley
The sophomore goalkeeper has already surpassed 50 saves for the season. In a sport in which a 50% save average is considered very good, she had 12 stops in a 12-11 loss to New Rochelle
Elle Mason, Rye Country Day
The sophomore midfielder went on an offensive tear last week, scoring 15 goals and registering seven assists over three Wildcat wins. She poured in seven goals and had four assists in a 16-8 win over Hackley, hit the back of the net five times and added three assists in 12-10 win over Holy Child and had a hat trick in a 13-2 win over Marymount,
Sadie McRae, Irvington
The senior attacker reached 100 goals for her varsity career with a hat trick in an 18-7 win over Edgemont. She also had five assists in that game. Earlier in the week, she put in six goals and had an assist in a 15-6 win over Ardsley and she beat the Tigers to six loose balls off the draw in a 12-7 loss to White Plains.
Cora Moore, Fox Lane
The junior midfielder came up big in two Fox wins last week. She had a hat trick and an assist against Brewster and, against Hen Hud, was dominant, particularly in the second half, on getting balls off the draw, securing 10. She also dished out five assists in that game.
Kayla Ruggiero, Haldane
The junior attacker, who has netted 32 goals over her team’s first five games, recorded her 200th point on varsity, scoring five times in a 16-3 win over Ossining. She also poured in 10 goals in a 19-8 win over Hastings.
Milan Smith, New Rochelle
The freshman midfielder scored seven goals over two games and caused opponents to turn the ball over five times. In a loss to Clarkstown North, she scored twice, caused the Vikings to turn the ball over twice and won the race to three balls off the draw. And in a one-goal win over Putnam Valley, Smith put in a career-high five goals, had an assist, caused the Tigers to turn the ball over three times and secured two balls off the draw.
Maggie Sullivan, Pearl River
The senior attacker scored five goals and had three assists over two games — a loss to Mamaroneck and a one-goal win over Lakeland/Panas. In the Lakeland/Panas game, Sullivan played D, as well as attack. It was her interception of a goalie’s attempted clear and her subsequent score off that pickoff that helped swing the momentum to the Pirates.
