Stone, a 6-foot-2, 288-pound defensive lineman, was a three-star recruit out of Athens, Georgia, who played 13 games over the last two seasons at Southeast Missouri State.
He had 34 tackles, including five for a loss, and two sacks in nine games last season. He had eight tackles in four games as a freshman in 2023. Stone joined Northern Arizona offensive tackle Clinton Azubuike, who also announced his commitment April 22, as the latest portal pickups for the Commodores.
Coach Clark Lea‘s Commodores wrapped up their spring practice schedule with their spring game April 12. Vanderbilt finished 7-6 last season, which concluded with a 35-27 victory against Georgia Tech in the Birmingham Bowl. It was the program’s first bowl victory since 2014, when they defeated Houston 41-24 in the BBVA Compass Bowl in Birmingham. It also was the Commodores’ first winning season since 2013.
