New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel stepped to the plate, choked on the bat and swung for the fences at the 2025 NFL draft.
And he knocked it out of the park.
The Patriots came into the draft with multiple holes to fill, particularly on the offensive side of the ball, and they made good on every need on their checklist. It was Christmas come early for Patriots fans as they watched Vrabel methodically work the board in his favor.
Not only did they address major needs, but they also came away with impressive steals on the draft board. One of those picks was having LSU edge rusher Bradyn Swinson, a player some projected to go as early as the second round, fall to them at No. 146 in the fifth round.
They got a franchise left tackle in Will Campbell and arguably the best do-everything running back in the draft with TreVeyon Henderson. The team also added one of the best separators at receiver in Washington State’s Kyle Williams.
Vrabel was wearing the chef’s cap in this draft, and he was cooking, as the kids say these days. NFL fans on social media were singing the Patriots’ praises after what might end up being the best draft the team has had in years.

There is no draft I like more through 5 rounds than the New England Patriots

The Patriots drafting Will Campbell and Jared Wilson — I can’t get over it. Franchise cornerstones for the next 10 years. The arrow for that offense is pointing up up up

Patriots draft class so far:
– OT Will Campbell
– RB TreVeyon Henderson
– WR Kyle Williams
– C Jared Wilson
– S Craig Woodson
– DT Joshua Farmer
– EDGE Bradyn SwinsonNew England has knocked this out of the park. Probably my favorite overall class so far. Incredible value.

The draft is the best because I fully believe the Patriots are gonna win 11 games next season after this weekend.
Look at the schedule before thinking I’m out of my mind but I can’t wait for football to be back.

The Patriots are crushing this draft.
I LOVE their haul

Patriots having a truly sensational draft.
— Adam Schein (@AdamSchein) April 26, 2025
All bias aside. How can someone logically say that the Patriots haven’t had the best draft class. They’ve fulfilled every need and made trades that give them more ammo for next year.
— Ben Belford-Peltzman (@thepatriotsbeat) April 26, 2025
Patriots have supported their quarterback, gotten more dynamic, filled needs, and found value in picks that have experienced perceived “falls” down the board.
Might be one of the more straightforward and logical drafts the Patriots have had in years. https://t.co/2eXFRH5F8J
