Shedeur Sanders’ historic slide in the 2025 NFL Draft was shocking. After being a projected top ten pick and falling to the fifth round without a major scandal turned heads. One of Sanders’ mentors, NFL legend Tom Brady, gave him valuable advice before his final season at Colorado. But now the resurfaced clip has many people questioning Sanders’ work ethic  because of the fall to the Cleveland Browns.

Brady was on a podcast with Deion Sanders and Shedeur last year. The subject of ‘Grown’s’ $400k Rolls-Royce was brought up with the legendary NFL QB telling Shedeur to focus on football.

“I think he needs to get his ass in the film room and spend as much time in there as possible and less time in the car,” Brady said.

While the future Hall-of-Famer threw it out there, it appears to have landed on deaf ears. Sanders’ flashy ways are part of his brand with a reported $6.5 million NIL valuation, likely more than his entire rookie contract with the Browns. His love for the pricey chains was evident last year.

Sanders traded his ‘Legendary’ chain for an iPad sized piece around his neck during his post-draft party in Dallas. Not to mention, showing off $1 million in cash in a Louis Vuitton case. The typical ‘Welcome to the NFL’ package for any fifth-round going to the Browns.

While the draft process was humbling for Sanders, Brady knew he needed more work on the field to solidify himself as a top pick. However, Shedeur got to Cleveland early and wants to make a good impression in the community. There’s no telling how much of a bag he fumbled by falling in the draft. Some projections say it cost him over $40 million by not going in the first round.

Brady is the minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, who passed on Shedeur with several opportunities in the top 100 picks.

While Sanders’ arrival in Cleveland has been noteworthy with the NFL’s top jersey sales, he still has work to do in order to make the roster. Maybe Brady’s advice hit home after waiting until Day 3 of the draft to find his NFL home.
