After months and months of waiting, the Tennessee Titans finally selected quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Will Levis had a poor season under center for the team last season, which prompted new general manager Mike Borgonzi to find his replacement.

Levis has failed to find his footing thus far in his NFL career after being selected early in the second round just two years ago. Many felt that the writing was on the wall for Levis with the emergence of Ward, and that he still had value as a trade chip this offseason.

Borgonzi and Chad Brinker, the President of Football Operations, spoke to the media on Monday morning following the draft. According to reporter John Glennon, Borgonzi told those in attendance that he actually made no effort to move Levis during the draft.

This came as a surprise to most Titans fans, as the expectation was that the team would at least try to find a trade partner for the 25-year-old signal-caller. However, the team seems content letting him serve as the backup for Ward despite the draft capital they invested in him just two years ago.

Given that Ward is expected to be under center for Tennessee over the next decade or more, Levis cannot be happy that the team is unwilling to move him. He likely still feels that he can be a franchise player in the NFL, and he won’t be getting that opportunity for the Titans anymore.
