The Detroit Tigers were on the road on Friday night in the second game of their four-game series against the Los Angeles Angels.
Of course, the Tigers took the first game on Thursday night in a blowout 10-4 and they looked to do the same thing on Friday.
That is exactly what they would do, but it took them until the ninth inning to do so.
Detroit fell behind 1-0 in the first inning after Zach Neto hit a solo home run for the Angels. Trey Sweeney then tied the game in the seventh inning after launching a solo home run.
The Tigers then had a massive offensive explosion in the ninth inning as they scored eight runs to pick up the 9-1 victory, giving them their 21st win of the season, which is the most in the American League.
Three different batters hit a home run in the ninth inning for the Tigers, including their star outfielder Riley Greene, who hit two homers in the inning.

By doing so, Greene became the first player in MLB history to hit two home runs in the ninth inning of the same game.

Greene also became the first Tigers player to hit two home runs in the same inning since 2007 when Magglio Ordonez did so in the second inning in a game against the Oakland Athletics.
This is a massive accomplishment for the 21-year-old outfielder as he continues to be a key player in the Tigers’ success.
Greene has had a great season thus far for Detroit as he has a .276 batting average, .827 OPS, eight home runs and 20 RBIs.
With the victory, the Tigers now hold a 21-12 record on the season, which is the best in the AL, and they will look to grab another victory against the Angels on Saturday.
