Texas A&M’s fourth SEC series begins on Friday night. The struggling Aggies will take on No. 1 Tennessee on the road for the first time since losing to the Volunteers in the National Championship round last summer. Sitting at 14-14 and 1-8 in SEC play, Texas A&M’s postseason chances are eliminated unless this team suddenly improves, which isn’t likely given the recent injuries.

This week, head coach Michael Earley provided several injury updates, including relief pitcher Josh Stewart, who will miss the rest of the regular season due to his ongoing right knee injury that could never heal in time, ending his 2025 campaign. While the bullpen continues to deal with attrition issues, first baseman Gavin Kash is also dealing with his own injury issues and will not be available vs. Tennessee this weekend.

Before Game 1, Texas A&M’s challenges continued after the news that inclement weather in Knoxville (TN) resulted in Sunday’s Game 3 being moved to Saturday, as both teams will meet for a doubleheader, meaning A&M’s bullpen will need to stay relatively fresh to have a chance at notching at least one win in the series.
