After making it official on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL draft and selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the first overall selection on Thursday, the Tennessee Titans introduced him to Nashville on Friday.

During the initial press conference, the team had a surprise for the new face of their franchise. Hall of Fame quarterback and NFL legend, Warren Moon, crashed the party to permit Ward to wear his retired jersey number No. 1.

Here is the video of this amazing moment.

While it has been clear for some time that Ward would likely be the selection, his future jersey number recently became a hot topic of conversation. The Titans retired the No. 1 jersey in 2006 after Moon’s Hall of Fame induction for his transcendent career with the Houston Oilers.

Prior to the retirement of the jersey, kicker Gary Anderson was the last member of the Titans franchise to wear that jersey.

Now, with Moon’s blessing, Ward will look to honor the legacy of the No. 1 jersey and add to its franchise lore.
