On3 has Michigan basketball as the No. 3 transfer portal class in 2025, and the Wolverines have some heavy hitters. But one isn’t a surefire player set to hit campus this fall.

However, he will be on campus this week.

The Wolverines pulled something of a coup, getting UAB transfer forward Yaxel Lendeborg to commit to the maize and blue this offseason, however, Lendeborg has entered in the NBA draft, and there’s some consternation as to whether or not he’ll remain in the draft or withdraw and report to Ann Arbor. However, according to the Detroit Free Press’ Tony Garcia, the elite forward and No. 1 player in the transfer portal is set to visit Dusty May and the squad over the next few days, potentially solidifying a decision to remain in the class rather than to go pro.

Of course, much of his decision will be made on his draft stock. Lendeborg is supposedly looking for a first-round grade and one that lands him on an NBA team certainly — something that wouldn’t be clear if he dropped into the second round.

If Lendeborg attends the NBA scouting combine, that could be a blow to Michigan’s chances, but for now, getting him on campus is good news for the maize and blue.

Aside from Lendeborg, the Wolverines brought in North Carolina guard Elliot Cadeau, Illinois forward Morez Johnson Jr., and UCLA center Aday Mara.
