The Los Angeles Rams shouldn’t leave the 2025 NFL Draft without a cornerback. Whether they draft one on the first, second or third day of the draft, L.A. needs some fresh blood in their secondary after deciding to return all the 2024 starters.

If a quality prospect doesn’t fall to the Rams at No. 26, though, they’ll need to pivot to one of their two third-round picks (unless they trade back into the second round). There could be solid prospects available on Day 2, and Pro Football Focus’ Mason Cameron identified Virginia Tech’s Dorian Strong as an ideal option for the Rams at this point in the draft.

“Inconsistent coverage play (23rd in PFF coverage grade) marred the Rams’ otherwise strong defensive showing in 2024,” Cameron wrote. “Without a Day 2 pick until No. 90, Los Angeles’ options will be limited. Strong profiles as a smart, competitive zone cornerback who charted in the 82nd percentile in single coverage grade in 2024.”

Strong had two interceptions and six defended passes this past season for the Hokies with seven interceptions and 28 defended passes throughout his 53 collegiate games. His experience is a huge plus, as is his size at a 6-foot and 174-pound frame.

While he wouldn’t need to start in Week 1, Strong would be a quality backup option to begin his career with the possibility of taking over in the future if the Rams want to shake up their lineup.
