PSG threaten Real Madrid’s plans for star signing with five-year contract on the table – report

According to reports from Fichajes, it has come to light that Paris Saint-Germain have unexpectedly entered the race to sign one of Real Madrid’s top defensive targets, Trent Alexander-Arnold.

It must be noted that while everything had been pointing towards the English defender moving to Madrid on a free transfer this summer, PSG’s sudden interest has thrown a spanner in the works.

The French club is making a late push to secure the signature of Alexander-Arnold, and their involvement has set up a tense showdown between two of Europe’s top football giants.

Real Madrid’s long-standing interest

Real Madrid have been closely monitoring Trent Alexander-Arnold for months, and there have been multiple contacts between the club and the player regarding a potential move.

The Spanish side had clearly identified the Liverpool right-back as a key addition to their defensive lineup, especially with his attacking prowess and versatility.

However, the emergence of PSG as a serious contender has added a new layer of intrigue to this transfer saga.

With the defender now having several offers on the table, PSG’s last-minute push could become a real threat to Real Madrid’s plans.

Despite the long-standing rivalry between the two clubs, the Parisian side is aware of the value of landing such a high-calibre player for free, making this an opportunity they cannot afford to miss.

It must be remembered that Real Madrid are well ahead in the race as even for the player, they remain his preferred choice.

In fact, as reported before, Real Madrid have already proposed a five-year deal to the Englishman, and the player seems to be content with it.

For now, what is certain is that he will leave Liverpool in the summer, but whether it is for Real Madrid of PSG remains to be seen. Judging by the look of things, though, everything points to the Los Blancos winning the race.
