Apr. 14—Emma Boulette, Westbrook junior shortstop: Boulette was an SMAA all-star last year, when she batted .529 with 23 runs scored and 15 RBI. She struck out only four times.

Reese Bryant, Bonny Eagle sophomore pitcher: As a freshman, Bryant went 5-3 with 55 strikeouts in 68 innings, and also batted .381 with six extra-base hits. She’ll need to limit her walks after allowing 49 last spring.

Addie Caiazzo, Windham junior shortstop: Caiazzo emerged as a fixture for the Eagles, hitting .458 last season. She slugged three home runs and was tied for the team lead with 29 runs scored.

Piper Catanese, York junior shortstop: One of the SMAA’s best hitters when she was at Marshwood, Catanese brings her bat to the two-time defending Class B South champs. She batted .561 and was an SMAA all-star for the Hawks last season.

Ashley Connor, Cheverus senior pitcher/first base: Connor was an all-SMAA honorable mention while batting .415 for the defending Class A state champions. She has extra-base power and will play next at Keene State.

Candice Daigle, Massabesic senior catcher/shortstop: The Utica commit has been a presence at the top of the Mustangs’ order since her freshman year. She’s the team’s most versatile piece defensively and can drive the ball.

Addison DeRoche, Cheverus sophomore pitcher: As a freshman, DeRoche proved herself to not only be the best pitcher in the state, but maybe the best Maine has seen. She’s back after going 12-1 with a 0.08 ERA and 212 strikeouts in 87 innings.

Rachel DiMauro, South Portland junior third base: After playing error-free first base last year, DiMauro moves across the diamond to fill a hole for the Red Riots. She hit .379 with a .517 on-base percentage, and can also pitch.

Maddie Fitzgerald, York junior first base/outfield: Fitzgerald took a step forward last year as a lethal bat atop the Wildcats’ lineup. She hit .635 with four home runs and drove in 34 runs.

Ella Gibbons, Lake Region sophomore first base: Gibbons made an immediate impact as a freshman, batting .431 and earning first-team all-conference distinction in the Western Maine Conference.

Emily Hester, Marshwood junior pitcher: Hester is a threat at the plate (.481 average, 20 RBI) while also being the Hawks’ top pitcher. She had a 3.50 ERA and struck out 52 in 49 innings.

Stella Jarvais, Windham senior catcher: Few teams have a catcher who rivals Jarvais at or behind the plate. The SMAA defensive player of the year hit .373 last seaspm, has a strong arm, and is an excellent pitch caller.

Kennedy Kimball, Windham senior pitcher: Kimball is an ace, but was previously second in line behind Brooke Gerry. Now, after going 9-0 with a 0.43 ERA and 111 strikeouts, the circle is all hers. She also hit .361 with 18 RBI last season.

Hailey Lamontagne, Cheverus junior center field: Lamontagne is the hardest out in the lineup for the defending Class A champions. She hit .517 last year with 13 extra-base hits, and also drove in 27 runs.

Julia Lawwill, Yarmouth senior center field: A three-time first-team all-WMC selection, Lawwill is a speedy contact hitter who batted .464 last year with a .559 on-base percentage while slugging at a .750 clip.

Charlotte McGreevy, Camden Hills junior pitcher/first base: McGreevey transferred from Oxford Hills after batting .481 in the regular season last year. She led the team with 23 singles and fanned only twice.

Jordan Nash, North Yarmouth Academy shortstop: A key contributor to back-to-back Class D championship teams, Nash is a strong-armed shortstop and the team’s best returning bat. She hit .582 with 32 hits, three homers and no strikeouts.

Sarah Orso, York sophomore pitcher/third base: As a freshman, Orso hit .539 with four home runs and a team-high 45 hits while driving in 39 runs in the Wildcats’ powerful lineup. She also went 4-0 with a 2.10 ERA.

Gabby Pelletier, Scarborough senior center field/pitcher: A four-year varsity player, Pelletier is a top-of-the-order bat who should lead the Red Storm offensively and factor into the pitching picture.

Julia Pike, Kennebunk senior pitcher: The SMAA offensive player of the year last year, Pike hit .549 with a .635 on-base percentage. She also posted a 2.19 ERA while striking out nearly two batters per inning.

Drea Rideout, Yarmouth senior catcher/pitcher: Rideout, a first-team all-WMC pick, can play anywhere in the field and is the Clippers’ top bat after hitting .562 last spring. She’ll continue playing after this season at Plymouth State.

Arianna Sproul, Medomak Valley junior utility: A catcher, second baseman and outfielder, Sproul was a second-team all-KVAC pick last year, batting .452 with 28 hits and 20 runs.

Maya Stone, Camden Hills junior pitcher/first base: Stone is back as the Windjammers’ ace after compiling a 0.62 ERA last season. She also led the team with a .333 batting average.

Savannah Tardiff, Wells senior catcher: Tardiff, one of the best hitters in the WMC, batted .518 with two home runs and 23 RBI last year. She’s also outstanding behind the plate. She’s a three-time first-team all-WMC pick.

Sawyer VonderHaar, Gorham junior shortstop: VonderHaar swings a powerful bat, clubbing four home runs last year while hitting .389 with a team-high 19 RBI. She’ll play short after manning third base last year.
