The Logansport softball team continued its hot start with a 14-1 win in five innings against Tipton on Wednesday at Fincher Field.
Gracie Risley went 3-for-3 with two triples for the Berries (5-0, 2-0 HC East). Teagan Wolf hit a home run and a single. Natalee Packard had a double and single. Rylinn Spradling had two hits. Bianca Cortez had a double. Adrienne Scott, Mady Baumgardner, Bella Nicoles, Kellyn Cripe, Evie Kitchel and Lucy Gordon each added a hit.
Freshman Baumgardner made her debut on the mound and allowed one run (none earned) on two hits, striking out four.
OAK HILL 9, CASS 6
The Kings (5-1) suffered their first loss Wednesday in Walton./span
Cass committed four errors which led to three unearned runs.
Owen Cotner-Graves allowed nine runs (six earned) on 10 hits and one walk, striking out five in 4 2/3 innings. Curtis Henry pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief, allowing two hits while striking out one.
The Kings had nine hits against four Oak Hill pitchers. Wade Tocco had two hits and three RBIs. Cotner-Graves and Brody Williams had two hits apiece. Trevor Rowe, Brennan Deeter and Nolan Hahn each added a hit.
The Kings had the tying run on first with the bases loaded and one out in the seventh when Tocco hit a line drive to second that turned into a 4-6 double play to end the game.
NORTH MIAMI 16, PIONEER 11
Pioneer dropped a second straight game to North Miami on Tuesday.
The game was called after five innings due to North Miami not having lights.
The Panthers rallied for six runs in the top of the fifth to get to within 12-11. But the Warriors answered with four in the bottom of the frame before the game was called.
The Panthers committed five errors which led to six unearned runs.
Noah Miller had a double and single to lead Pioneer (3-3, 2-2 HNAC). Blake Rogers and Jaxson Merrick each had two hits. Jayson Layman, Lane Weldy, Eli Guffey and Dawson Eggers each added a hit.
