After outscoring its three opponents 36-5 at regionals, Stuart is headed back to the OSSAA State Tournament. The No. 3 Hornets (25-4) were led by junior Cody Cook, who went 6-for-8 and four RBIs in three games, and sophomore Bartlett Patterson, who went 4-for-8 with eight RBIs. Stuart will open the State Tournament and face No. 6 Leedy (18-8) at 4 p.m. Thursday at Shawnee High School.

No. 14 Kiowa’s season concluded in the Regional Tournament title game Friday. Despite falling to Stuart early, the Cowboys (15-9) earned two wins over No. 19 Mulhall-Orlando (17-8) to keep their season alive in the consolation bracket. However, they fell to the No. 3 Hornets in the win-or-go-home rematch. Sophomore shortstop Hoff Weil had a strong showing throughout the tournament, going 9-for-11 with five RBIs.

No. 15 Crowder split its Regional Tournament trip, ending its season at .500. The Demons (10-10) started off hot with two impressive wins over No. 18 Rush Springs (17-18), but they were ultimately outmatched by No. 2 Canute (20-4). Senior first baseman T.J. Cook went 3-for-7 with four RBIs for Crowder and freshman pitcher Kollin Davis had eight strikeouts on the mound in game one.

Indianola’s historic season came to an end in the Regional Tournament Thursday. The Warriors (8-13) made the regional playoffs for the first time in over a decade, but were defeated by No. 2 Canute (20-4) and No. 18 Rush Springs (17-18) in back-to-back games. Left fielder Alex Whitlock was a bright spot for Indianola in game two as he went 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
