The New England Patriots had a virtual meeting with Miami wide receiver Jacolby George, per The Draft Network’s Justin Melo.

George, a former four-star recruit, served as a solid offensive weapon during his run with the Hurricanes. Some might consider last season a down year after he posted 53 receptions for 752 yards and eight touchdowns. The receiving total was down from the 2023 season, when he had 864 receiving yards.

With that said, the Hurricanes had one of the best receiving units in the country last year, and George made an impact in games. All told, he’s recorded 130 catches for 1,929 yards and 17 touchdowns in his collegiate career.

George could serve as a complementary receiver on the Patriots’ offensive unit. He was not a top receiver during his time with the Hurricanes, but he was a reliable and productive option when called upon.

The Patriots added four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs and longtime veteran wideout Mack Hollins in free agency. They could benefit from continuing to add pieces to a unit that underperformed in a major way last season.

George could be an interesting prospect for the future later in the draft or as an undrafted free agent.
