The Carolina Panthers added to their backfield to begin the third day of the 2025 NFL draft.
With the 114th overall pick, the Panthers selected University of Georgia running back Trevor Etienne.
Trevor, the brother of Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne, split his three-year collegiate career between the University of Florida and the University of Georgia.
His first season in Gainesville, 2022, saw him rush for 719 yards and six touchdowns off 118 carries en route to an SEC All-Freshman team nod. He followed that up with 753 rushing yards and nine total touchdowns in 2023.
Etienne transferred to Athens for the 2024 campaign. He went on to run for 609 yards and nine scores for the Bulldogs.
The 20-year-old now joins a backfield that already includes Chuba Hubbard and free-agent signee Rico Dowdle. He could, with the uncertainty surrounding the status of 2024 second-round pick Jonathon Brooks, challenge for the No. 3 spot at the position for 2025.
