Luka Doncic has revitalized the Los Angeles Lakers since arriving in that monumental trade on Feb. 1, both on and off the court. With his help, they claimed the third seed in the Western Conference with a 50-32 record, and many feel they now have at least a puncher’s chance of winning the NBA championship this season.
Although LeBron James is still going strong, Doncic is now seemingly their main man, and that has been reflected in the sales of his jerseys. Purple and Gold singlets with his No. 77 have been flying off the shelves, so much so that his jersey was the league’s most popular one this regular season.

“Doncic’s No. 77 Lakers jersey was the NBA’s most popular jersey for the 2024-25 regular season based on NBAStore.com sales, the league announced Monday,” wrote Dave McMenamin.
In doing so, Doncic broke a stranglehold that James and Stephen Curry have had on the No. 1 spot in jersey sales for over a decade.
“Doncic became the first player other than LeBron James or Stephen Curry to hold the lead in jersey sales since the 2012-13 regular season, when Carmelo Anthony was No. 1, playing for the New York Knicks.”
Doncic, who is originally from Slovenia, has also become the first foreign-born player to lead the NBA in jersey sales.
At the same time, James remains wildly popular, as evidenced by the fact that he was No. 3 in jersey sales this season right behind Curry, who was at No. 2.
