The Denver Nuggets were on the road on Monday night as they began their second-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Denver had a solid start to the game as trailed by just one point at the end of the first quarter. Things would change in the second quarter as Oklahoma City took a 10-point lead into halftime.
Despite the halftime deficit, the Nuggets were able to stay in the game before securing the win thanks to another game-winning shot by Aaron Gordon, his second of the playoffs thus far.

Of course, Nikola Jokic led the way for the Nuggets on Monday night as he posted another ridiculous stat line.
In the game, Jokic scored 42 points to go along with 22 rebounds, six assists, one steal and three blocks despite being in foul trouble late.
Gordon added 22 points and 14 rebounds of his own while former Thunder Russell Westbrook recorded 18 points and two assists off the bench, including the assist on Gordon’s game-winning three.
Jokic stole the spotlight once again on Monday night, for good reason, and he also made NBA history with his incredible performance.
In Monday’s contest, Jokic became the first player in NBA playoff history to record 40 or more points, 20 or more rebounds, five or more assists and two or more blocks.

This is an incredible feat for the three-time MVP as he continues to prove that he is one of, if not, the best players in the NBA.
Of course, the Nuggets had others step up like Gordon, Jamal Murray and Westbrook, which they needed to win the game, but it was Jokic who dominated once again, which carried over from their first-round series against the Clippers.
With their victory in Game 1, the Nuggets now take a 1-0 lead in the series and they will look to take a commanding 2-0 lead in Game 2 on Wednesday night before heading back to Denver for Game 3.
