The New England Patriots addressed several areas of need during the 2025 NFL Draft, and it really impressed Mel Kiper Jr.

The NFL Draft guru released his grades for all 32 teams on Sunday morning and gave the Patriots an A-. New England was just one of five teams Kiper gave the same grade to or better.

The Patriots drafted offensive tackle Will Campbell with the No. 4 pick on Thursday night. Kiper wrote that the LSU product’s arm length isn’t ideal, but Campbell will “instantly improve” the offensive line with his footwork and “pure power.”

Kiper also liked what the Patriots did on Day 2 by drafting running back TreVeyon Henderson and wide receiver Kyle Williams.

“Henderson is in a perfect spot to maximize his skill set. He’s a big-play artist because of his explosion and vision, but he won’t be a 30-carry back every Sunday,” Kiper wrote. “Henderson is at his best when he’s sharing the work, and the Pats will do that with Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson still in the fold.”

Aside from a strong draft, the Patriots also made moves in free agency by signing Stefon Diggs and Milton Williams, among other signings. So between the draft picks and a free agency that bolstered the team, Kiper wouldn’t be surprised to see the six-time Super Bowl champions take a step forward in 2025 after back-to-back 4-13 seasons.
