The idea of trading Jordan Addison has been floated since last offseason. It has never gotten much traction, but for some reason, it is an idea that never gets out of the heads of analysts. The latest idea involving Addison in a trade came from Adam Patrick of Fansided, who suggested the team send him to Miami for another wide receiver in return.
Tyreek Hill has been vocal with his happiness and disdain with the Dolphins over the last couple of weeks. He has been speculated to be in trade discussions, but nothing concrete. Despite that, Patrick suggests that Hill be the Vikings‘ acquisition from Miami in sending Addison to South Beach.
The full details of the trade are that the Vikings sent Addison and a 2026 2nd-round pick to the Dolphins in exchange for Tyreek Hill and a 2026 3rd-round pick.
Patrick explains his reasoning for the trade as follows: “Minnesota’s receiving duo of Addison and Justin Jefferson is already one of the best in the NFL, but just imagine how much more explosive the team’s passing attack could be next season if they had Hill and Jefferson lining up on the field at the same time.”
While the idea means well, I’m not sure it gets off the ground in terms of making much sense. The Vikings have enjoyed their cap flexibility in recent years, and taking someone off a rookie deal and swapping them for Hill, who is making $30 million a year, it sets the team back more than it helps.
