The 5-foot-11, 188-pound Minor was an overlooked prospect. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler had him ranked as the 127th-best prospect at his position.
That’s not 127th-best overall. That’s 127th-best among just cornerbacks.
Minor started his career at Texas Tech before transferring to Indiana and then finally Memphis in 2024. This past seaosn with the Tigers, Minor logged 29 tackles, 2.0 sacks and 6 pass breakups.
“Mr. Irrelevant” is a title given to the final pick of the NFL Draft every year. The term was coined by former NFL player Paul Salata to celebrate the underdog story of being the final player taken.
Notable players who were “Mr. Irrelevant” include San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and former kick Ryan Succop.
