Former Nebraska football center Cam Jurgens signed a four-year $68 million extension with the Philadelphia Eagles. This includes a $39.4 million guaranteed contract and keeps him with the organization through the 2029 season. This was reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.
Jurgens is coming off a fantastic year. He was able to win the Super Bowl with the Eagles and started in 16 games this season. He has played in 44 games total in his career with the Eagles and made his first Pro Bowl this past year.
Jurgens’ story is quite interesting, especially given where he started. The Nebraska native originally played the tight end position before moving to the center spot in his redshirt freshman season. From there, he mastered the center position and was drafted in the second round.
It appears that move has paid off, as Jurgens continues his ascent towards being one of the best centers in the NFL. Time will tell how the rest of his career plays out, but he’s certainly off to a strong start.
Pro-Bowl center Cam Jurgens and the Eagles reached agreement today on a four-year, $68 million extension that includes $39.4 million guaranteed that contractually ties him to Philadelphia through the 2029 season, per the team and his agent Ryan Tollner at @excelfootball. pic.twitter.com/IBS1CFX4HY
