Through three games, the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers have had an epic first-round series. On Saturday, the Golden State Warriors came away with a 104-93 win over the Houston Rockets.

The win for the Warriors pushed them to a 2-1 series lead. The best-of-seven series will continue on Monday night from Chase Center in San Francisco.

Of course, one of the headline players in the series is Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors. The 37-year-old guard continues to add to his Hall of Fame resume.

The NBA posted Saturday night about the historic feat Steph Curry accomplished in the win:

The list of players Curry has joined is certainly a who’s who of the best to ever play the game. Both Kevin Durant and LeBron James are also still active on the list.

In the win, Curry led all scorers with 36 points. He did so in 40 minutes of action. The star guard also added seven rebounds and dished out six assists. Curry was 7 for 8 from the free-throw line as well.

Golden State won the game without the services of Jimmy Butler. After playing just seven minutes in the Game Two loss, Butler missed the game with a left pelvic contusion. His status for Game Four is still unknown. Buddy Hield scored 17 off the bench for Golden State while Gary Payton added 16.

Despite the loss, the Rockets had five players score in double figures. Fred VanVleet led the way with 17 points. He played 40 minutes but was just 5 for 14 from the field.

These two teams were separated by just four games in the regular season standings. The Houston Rockets earned the second seed with a 52-30 record and went 23-17 on the road. Golden State wrapped up the regular season at 48-34 with identical 24-17 records at home and away.

The winner of this series will take on the winner of the Los Angeles Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves. Heading into Sunday, Minnesota led the series 2-1.
