The Golden State Warriors are off on Friday as they prepare for Game 3 of their first round series against the Houston Rockets.

Of course, Game 3 of the series is Saturday night from The Bay and it is a crucial game for both teams.

Golden State took Game 1 of the series behind incredible performances from both of their star players, Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler.

Game 2 did not go the Warriors’ way as Butler suffered an injury early on as they fell to the Rockets, who were able to tie up the series.

The series now heads to San Francisco for Game 3 on Saturday as both teams look to gain control with a victory.

While the Warriors were off on Friday, the NBA did make a major announcement regarding their veteran forward Draymond Green.

The NBA announced that Green has been named the 2024-25 NBA Hustle Award winner.

Of course, the NBA Hustle Award honors a player who makes effort plays that do not always appear in the box score, which fits perfectly with Green.

This season, the 35-year-old forward played a key role in the Warriors’ success as he averaged 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 42.4% from the field and 32.5% from three-point range.

While Green’s numbers are great, not all his plays end up in the box scores, which is why he is the perfect player to win the NBA Clutch Award as his intensity, especially on the defensive side, has played a massive role for Golden State this season.

Of course, Green was also nominated for the Defensive Player of the Year award this season but he ended up third in voting behind Evan Mobley of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who won the award, and also Dyson Daniels of the Atlanta Hawks.

This is a great honor for Green and he and the Warriors will now look to gain control of their series against the Rockets on Saturday night in Game 3.
