Michigan State football’s coaching staff made it known that they were in the market for a tight end during the winter transfer portal window. So much so, the Spartans landed a pledge from Mason Mini, but lost the commitment after Mini elected to stay closer to home on the west coast.
Now that the spring transfer portal window has opened, it appears that the Spartans will once again be in the market for a tight end addition.
According to Allen Trieu of 247Sports, Indiana tight end transfer Sam West is in contact with Michigan State. A Greensburg, Indiana native, the 6-foot-4, 245 pound tight end has garnered some solid interest since entering the portal. West will be visiting Mississippi State, Pitt and Temple, while MSU and Vanderbilt have spoken to the transfer.
