Michigan State football has reportedly set its eyes on a transfer edge rusher from Georgia State.
The Spartans have extended an offer to Georgia State transfer edge rusher Cam Williams, according to a post from his social media X account. Additionally, Spartans Illustrated reported on Wednesday night that Williams will visit Michigan State next week.
Williams played in 12 games for the Panthers last season, recording 21 tackles (five for loss), one sack and one forced fumble. Williams was the highest-graded defender for Georgia State in 2024, according to Pro Football Focus.
Williams has played for four different schools during his college career. He started off at Miami (FL) where he played in nine games with the Hurricanes in 2020. From there, he transferred to Troy (one game in 2021), Jacksonville State (12 games in 2023) and then Georgia State this past season.
Michigan State football is in the market for an edge rusher after Anthony Jones entered the yesterday. Jones was the top returner in sacks (two) for the Spartans from last year’s roster.
