When the Dallas Mavericks hosted the Los Angeles Lakers for the first time since they traded Luka Doncic, one person who seemed especially emotional was Mark Cuban.

The Mavericks pulled out all the stops for Doncic, including a free t-shirt giveaway and a tribute video that moved their former superstar to tears. Dallas fans did not seem to have much for the front office executive that made the decision to trade Doncic, though.

Many chanted “Fire Nico” in reference to Mavericks executive Nico Harrison throughout the night. It was a spectacle to behold and no one seemed quite as impacted by it as Cuban, who surprisingly chose to sell his majority stake in the Mavericks last year.

Cuban, who has admitted he feels that Dallas got fleeced by Los Angeles in the deal, looked especially sad watching Doncic hit a 3-pointer for the opposing team.

The longtime Dallas owner still has a minority stake in Mavericks ownership but lost control of basketball operations as part of his sale.

Cuban, who was as shocked as anyone by the return that Dallas got for their former franchise cornerstone, did not seem to love watching Doncic score 31 points in the first half on Wednesday night.

Fortunately, after the game, the two were about to reunite and share a special moment on the court.
