Florida basketball has its newest guard.
Former Princeton Tiger Xaivian Lee officially announced via Instagram on Wednesday night that he’ll be transferring to join the Gators. Lee had previously said his top three were Kansas, St. John’s and UF.
Lee was high school teammates with UF forward Thomas Haugh. The two attended the Perkiomen School in Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, where Lee played point guard.

Lee then committed to Princeton, and in his three years in New Jersey, he made an immediate splash. He was a unanimous two-time First-Team All-Ivy League guard and was a finalist for the Lou Henson Mid-Major National Player of the Year his sophomore year.
He averaged 17.1 PPG, 5.7 RPG and 3.7 APG in 2023-24. Last season, he was at 16.9 PPG, 6.1 RPG and 5.5 APG.
Center Micah Handlogten told the Sun at Raising Cane’s last Thursday that Lee is an elite scorer.
“I looked at his highlights playing at Princeton,” Handlogten said. “Just a phenomenal scorer, very quick, very good change of direction, very crafty. He’d be a phenomenal pickup.”
Lee made his official visit to Florida on Tuesday after first visiting Kansas and St. John’s. Social media showed that members of Florida’s national championship-winning team brought Lee to White Buffalo, a bar in downtown Gainesville.
Haugh, Handlogten and other Florida basketball players had made pushes on social media for Lee to commit.
Lee will likely be a starter on the Gators next season with Denzel Aberdeen. UF will also use Urban Klavzar, Isaiah Brown, Alex Lloyd and CJ Ingram to replace Walter Clayton Jr., Will Richard and Alijah Martin.
