The Los Angeles Lakers had a chance to tie their NBA playoff series against the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 4 on Sunday. Instead, the Purple and Gold are now facing a 3-1 deficit.
LeBron James and company led by as many as 12 points in the contest. Entering the fourth quarter of the game, they were even holding a 10-point advantage.
However, a strong fourth quarter from the Timberwolves allowed them to turn things around and win, 116-113. Anthony Edwards carried Minnesota to victory, scoring 16 of his 43 points in the final frame to take down the Lakers.
Luka Doncic recorded 38 points, while James had 27 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three blocks. Unfortunately, their efforts were not enough, as the Timberwolves took advantage of the Lakers’ 10 turnovers and scored 19 points off them.
The Lakers’ bench was also outscored by the Minnesota bench, 25-6.
James’ crucial turnover and foul in the closing seconds of the showdown effectively ended the game for the Lakers, with many fans also blaming him for the team’s collapse.

While several supporters expressed disappointment with the situation the Lakers have ended up in, others appear to be resigned to the fact that the series is virtually over for L.A.
“Lakers out of the playoffs. Shame,” a commenter wrote. Another one said, “Getting bounced in the first round with LeBron and Luka.”
“Yeah man it’s over,” a disappointed fan shared.
A follower added, “Sigh…. It’s over.”
An angry social media user exclaimed, “It’s over. [Expletive] bums.”
“We lost the series today!” a sixth poster remarked.
Of course, the Lakers still have a fighting chance. It’s a best-of-seven series, and both LeBron James and Luka Doncic understand that very well.
However, with the Lakers losing two straight games now, it’s understandable why there’s not a lot of faith in them at the moment.
