The Kansas City Chiefs‘ 2025 Rookie class was officially introduced to the team facility over the weekend for minicamp. As part of their first workout, they spoke at the podium in front of reporters as members of the Chiefs, revealing personal moments to connect with the Kansas City community.
Chiefs rookie pass rusher Ashton Gillotte opened up about why he used his NIL money for charity while playing for Louisville in college.
“A lot of it comes down to my faith and really a calling I feel like God put on me. I don’t need half the things – I’m grateful with what I have, so whatever I can give back, I’ll give back,” said Gillotte, “My mom ingrained that in me, my pastors ingrained that in me, and my youth group leaders. For me, it’s been a calling, especially for veterans, like veterans was a big thing for me. Homelessness, that’s another thing. If I can give back in any way, I feel like that’s what you’re supposed to do. Especially when you get into these positions.”
Gillotte has a military background, citing his father’s service as a former Marine and his Uncle’s service in Iraq for the Army.
