The Kansas City Chiefs selected Tennessee defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott in the second round with the 63rd pick in last weekend’s draft, adding another talented interior lineman with versatile attributes. On Saturday, he met with reporters at rookie camp and shared his appreciation for being a member of the Chiefs and his goals.

“It’s almost the same answer, like it’s just a blessing to be here,” said Norman-Lott. “I mean, I’m figuring out where I’m at (and) all those kinds of things just with being in a new area, but overall, I’m happy to be here.”

Norman-Lott began his college football career at Arizona State but eventually transferred to Tennessee in 2023 and played two seasons. He recorded 44 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery. He’s excited to start his professional journey in Kansas City and conquer Steve Spagnuolo’s playbook.

“It’s a pretty complex playbook (that) he (Defensive Coordinator Steve Spagnuolo) has going on,” said Norman-Lott. “But I am confident I’ll be able to get a hold of it and learn it. Spags is a great coach, and I’m ready.”

Kansas City hopes the former Volunteers star can make a difference on the defensive line after several veteran players left in free agency.
