Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are a hot free-agent destination.
Granted, one wouldn’t always remember that given how quiet the Bengals were during free agency this offseason. But veteran free agents looking to contend know that Burrow and the Bengals are a nice possible fit.
Just ask free-agent safety Justin Simmons.
During an interview with Kay Adams, the veteran safety listed off some teams he’d like to play for next and brought up the Bengals.
“Baker and Tampa Bay been doing really well in that division for a while, and so going to Atlanta, thinking there was a chance there to make something special happen,” Simmons said. “Teams like Buffalo, Philly, Cincinnati, like teams like that, that have always been in the mix. And obviously, Philly just winning it last year. It’d be special.”

Simmons, 31, just spent one season with the Atlanta Falcons after suiting up in Denver for most of his career and posted a 59.9 PFF grade in the process.
The Bengals have sounded content to roll out Jordan Battle and Geno Stone at safety next season. But their draft work on top safeties says the team isn’t exactly ruling out making additions to the roster, either.
If the draft doesn’t produce a top-flight safety prospect for the Bengals, perhaps they loop back and get in touch with Simmons after the event or even into the summer in order to find more quality depth and competition.
