The Iowa Hawkeyes are one of a handful of schools linked to Northwestern transfer guard Melannie Daley.

Daley entered the transfer portal on April 15 and quickly racked up plenty of attention. Per 247Sports’ Dushawn London, Daley has heard from Iowa and a long list of other high-profile suitors.

In addition to Iowa, Daley has received interest from Notre Dame, Iowa State, NC State, Minnesota, Arizona, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Cal, St. John’s, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Penn State, USF, Rutgers, Boston College and Purdue.

Daley averaged 11.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 46.7% from the field and 80.0% from the free-throw line last season in 27 games played.

During the 2023-24 campaign, Daley averaged 13.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 49.4% from the floor and 75.8% from the charity stripe. A native of Hastings, N.Y., Daley played in 94 games and started 30 over her four seasons with the Wildcats.

The 5-foot-11 guard has scored 937 points, grabbed 217 rebounds, dished out 165 assists and come away with 105 steals during her collegiate career thus far.

After the departures of starting guards Lucy Olsen and Sydney Affolter, Iowa could use another experienced guard in its backcourt to join signees Addie Deal and Journey Houston and returnees Taylor McCabe, Kylie Feuerbach, Teagan Mallegni, Taylor Stremlow and Callie Levin.
