With back-to-back wins this week, Huntington baseball gave its coach a milestone.

Meanwhile, Piketon and Chillicothe softball programs continue to dominate.

Here are the highlights from Wednesday and Thursday.

Baseball

Wednesday

Huntington 9, Piketon 4: The Redstreaks pushed across two runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game at 4 apiece, but a five-run bottom of the inning gave the Huntsmen the win. Andrew Oyer got the win with his complete game effort where he gave up five hits, one earned run, three walks and struck out three. Landen Lowery drove in five runs on a day he went 2-of-3 with a double, a run and two stolen bases. Brayden Elliott went 1-of-3 with three runs an RBI. For Piketon, Mason Roberts went 1-of-3 with two RBIs and Jace Ritchie went 2-of-4 with a run.

Zane Trace 13, Paint Valley 1: Pierce Manson went four innings for the win, allowing three hits, one run (none earned), three walks and striking out six. Coen Larson went 1-of-3 with a double, three runs and two RBI. Ezra Rippeth went 2-of-2 with two doubles, a run and two RBIs. For Paint Valley, Jase Rinehart went 1-of-1. Preston Fauber scored the lone run for the Bearcats.

Southeastern 1, Adena 0: Carson McWhorter got the complete game shutout, giving up three hits, no walks, and striking out six. CJ Juff was credited with the RBI that brought Joey Pfeifer in for the lone run. Austin Magill had a complete game, giving up four hits, no earned runs, no walks and striking out six in the loss.

Unioto 6, Westfall 1: KB Perkins picked up another win with a complete game, where he gave up seven hits, one earned run, a walk, and struck out 10. He also went 2-of-4 at the plate with an RBI. Keegan Snyder went 1-of-3 with a double, two runs, and a stolen base. For Westfall, Noah Stoneking went 2-of-3 with a double. Caleb Lowe went 1-of-2 with an RBI.

Waverly 11, Minford 3: The Tigers scored six runs in the seventh to put away the Falcons. Caleb Cox was 2-of-3 with a double, two runs and two RBIs. Kage Alexander went 1-of-4 with two runs. Hunter Hauck went six innings, allowing three hits, three runs and striking out nine.

Chillicothe 14, McClain 11: The Cavaliers jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first three innings. Vivian Moregan went 3-o-f4 with three runs and an RBI. Isabella Witte went 3-of-4 with one run and four RBIs. CJ Rittinger went 6.1 innings, giving up five hits, three runs (two earned) and striking out 12. She also went 1-of-5 at the plate with a run, a double and an RBI.

Thursday

Westfall 12, Southeastern 7: Jaden Towler hit a home run on a 1-of-3 night where he scored three times and had three RBIs. Brenden Tuttle went 3-of-5 with three runs and a stolen base. Rick Hanley went 2-of-4 with a run, three RBIs and a stolen base. For the Panthers, CJ Huff went 2-of-4 with a run and an RBI. Brayden Burns went 3-of-4 with a double, three runs and a stolen base.

Huntington 9, Paint Valley 7: The Huntsmen secured coach Chad Carroll’s 100th career win on a night they had to come back to do it. Paint Valley took an early 4-1 lead in the first inning. The Huntsmen tacked on two runs in the second to make it 4-3, but the Bearcats again kept inching forward, scoring two in the top of the third. The Huntsmen answered, but going into the sixth, they still trailed 7-4. After holding them to no run in the top of the frame, Huntington had a 5-run inning to pull ahead 9-7. Sean Davis got the win, going 3.2 innings, giving up one hit, no runs, two walks, and striking out three. Brayden Elliott went 2-of-4 with a run, and two RBI. Alex Long scored twice on a 1-of-2 night with a stolen base. For the Bearcats, Jase Rinehart went 2-of-4 with two runs and an RBI. Bryce Blanton went 1-of-3 with a double and a run.

Miami Trace 6, Unioto 1: In the non-league contest, the Panthers scored four unearned runs in the sixth to break a 1-1 tie with the Shermans. For Unioto, Jack Welch scored the lone run.

Softball

Piketon 24, Huntington 7: Piketon’s hot bats were blazing in this one. They scored 12 runs on six hits in the top of the fifth. Kenly Maynard had five RBIs, going 2-of-4. Addy Blakeman went 4-of-5 with three runs, and three RBIs. Reese Shanks went 3-of-4 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI. Briar Penwell had three RBIs and scored four runs on a 2-of-3 game. For Huntington, Allie Baker went 1-of-1 with a double, two runs and an RBI. Savannah Bushatz went 1-of-2 with two runs, and an RBI.

Westfall 10, Unioto 9: A walk-off RBI single by Logan McNeal scored Gabby Henry in the bottom of the seventh for the win. McNeal went 1-of-5 with a run and an RBI. Henry went 3-of-5 with a double and a run. Sophie Fuller was 1-of-4 with two RBI. Mackenzie Welch went 3-of-5 with a home run, a double, two runs and five RBIs for Unioto. Mackenzie Eisel went 2-of-3 with two doubles and two runs.

Zane Trace 10, Paint Valley 0: Reagan Arthurs hit a home run on a 3-of-4 night that saw her get a double, two runs and two RBIs. Haylynn Boggess-Pierce went 2-of-3 with a double, two runs and a stolen base. Brynn Wipert got the win, going five innings, allowing two hits, no walks, and striking out eight. She also went 2-o-f4 with two runs and an RBI. Delainey Mannion and Haley Burton went 1-of-2 for the Bearcats.

Adena 4, Southeastern 0: Allie Bossert got the save, ging two innings, allowing one hit and striking out two. Addy Cottroll got the win, going five innings, allowing four hits, one walk and striking out three. Adriana Guranierie went 2-of-3 with a double, two runs, an RBI and a stolen base. For Southeastern, Molly Lowery went 2-of-3 and Jade Turnder with 1-of-3.

Waverly 20, Minford 7: Whitley Brown went 3-of-3 with a run, a double and four RBIs to lead the Tigers. Lexi Smith got the win, going four innings, giving up five hits, four runs and striking out six. Jo Colley went 1-of-3, scoring three runs, and had three RBIs.

Thursday

Chillicothe 6, Adena 0: CJ Rittinger went 3-of-4 with a run and two RBIs in the non-league win over the Warriors. She had a complete game where she no-hit the Warriors, struck out 10, and walked one. Cadie Boltenhouse was 2-of-4 with two runs and an RBI. Josei Huddleston went 2-of-3 with two runs.

Northwest 16, Huntington 3: Savannah Bushatz tripled on a 1-of-3 night where she had an RBI and a run. Taylor Tisdalw went 1-of-2 wtih a double and an RBI. Kenly Smith went 1-of-1 with an RBI.

Piketon 6, Eastern Pike 0: Kyndall Carroll went six innings, giving up three hits, one walk and striking out eight in a shutout. Aubrey Heath recorded her seventh home run of the season on a 1-of-2 night, where she scored two runs, had two stolen bases and an RBI. Briar Penwell went 2-of-4 with two runs.

Unioto 13, Miami Trace 3: Mackenzie Paugh went five innings, giving up four hits, three runs (two earned), walking one and striking out six in the non-league win. She also went 2-o-f3 at the plate with three runs. Mattie Tuttle hit a fomer, scored two runs and had two RBIs.

Westfall 12, Southeastern 1: Anna Snyder went 2-of-2 with a double, three runs and an RBI. Adrinia Hicks went 2-of-4 with a triple, a run and four RBI to help her own cause in the circle, where she went five innings, gave up one hit, one earned run, one walk and struck out six. Kenzie Cook went 2-of-3 with two runs and an RBI. For the Panthers, Molly Lowry went 1-of-2 with an RBI.
