A former Michigan State wide receiver was selected in the final round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
Former Spartans wide receiver Ricky White was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday. The Seattle Seahawks picked White with the No. 238 overall pick in the draft.
White transferred to UNLV after one year with the Spartans in 2020. He is famously known by Spartan fans for his incredible performance against rival Michigan in the 2020 upset of the Wolverines at the Big House.
In his college career, White recorded 228 receptions for 3,366 yards and 24 touchdowns. He became one of the best wide receivers in all of college football during his time at UNLV, with two straight 1,000 yard seasons in his last two years as a Rebel.
Michigan State had only one player selected in the 2025 NFL Draft — offensive lineman Luke Newman to the Chicago Bears in the sixth round. White was one of two notable former Spartans to be selected in the NFL Draft, joining defensive lineman Derrick Harmon who was picked by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round on Thursday.
Seattle takes former MSU WR Rickey White III in the seventh round at pick No. 238. Star of Spartans’ win over Michigan in 2020 has been at UNLV since transferring there in 2022.
