The Philadelphia Eagles have made a move to keep their defensive line strong, exercising the fifth-year option on defensive tackle Jordan Davis, guaranteeing him $12.9 million for the 2026 season per Fox Sports NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.

Drafted 13th overall in 2022 out of Georgia, Davis has grown into a force at 6’6” and 336 pounds. His blend of size, speed, and power makes him a problem for opponents. In 2024, he racked up 34 tackles, 3 sacks, and a forced fumble, proving he can stuff the run and pressure quarterbacks. Playing alongside Jalen Carter, Davis has helped to bring  the Eagles’ defensive front to be known as one of the league’s best.

The fifth-year option, standard for first-rounders, keeps Davis in Philadelphia through the  season. At $12.9 million, it’s a cost-effective deal for a player of his talent, especially with defensive tackle salaries climbing. GM Howie Roseman’s call here buys time to work on Davis’ extension with savvy cap management.

For Davis, this is both a pat on the back and a push to keep improving. He’s become a fan favorite for his hustle and ability to collapse pockets, but there’s room to grow into an even bigger disruptor. As the Eagles chase another Super Bowl, locking in Davis ensures their defensive identity stays intact. Eagles fans can breathe easy knowing Davis will be clogging lanes and hunting quarterbacks in 2026.
