The Eagles are the reigning Super Bowl champions, and as we approach the 2025 NFL draft, this roster will look dramatically different after suffering several free-agent losses. Philadelphia suffered massive losses as the first wave of free agency saw Josh Sweat (Cardinals), Milton Williams (Patriots), Kenneth Gainwell (Steelers), Mekhi Becton (Chargers), Isaiah Rodgers (Vikings), Fred Johnson (Jaguars), Parris Campbell (Cowboys), Darius Slay (CB) and Oren Burks (Bengals) all depart.
Still, they rebounded to make several key signings, including A.J. Dillon (RB), Joshua Uche (LB), Adoree’ Jackson (CB), Charley Hughlett (LS), Patrick Johnson (LB), Avery Williams (KR/PR), Kylen Granson (TE), and Azeez Ojulari (OLB).
With the NFL draft fast approaching, we’re examining Philadelphia’s offensive tackle position as we kick off the Eagles Wire off-season previews.
What’s changed
Philadelphia saw Fred Johnson depart in free agency, and has Le’Raven Clark and Jack Driscoll as free agents. The Birds signed Lane Johnson to a contract extension and inked Kendall Lamm to a one-year deal.
Darian Kinnard
Kinnard is a key player who can play both guard and tackle. He has been part of the Eagles‘ offensive line depth, and in 2024, he made the 53-man roster, which was considered an “upset.” Kinnard is also a Super Bowl winner, winning three consecutive rings, including one with the Eagles in 2025.
OL Kendall Lamm
According to Pro Football Focus, in the 2024 season, Lamm ranked first among tackles with zero sacks allowed and 10th among tackles with a pass-blocking grade of 83.1.
Laekin Vakalahi
He was signed as an undrafted free agent after the 2024 NFL draft and is part of the Eagles’ International Pathway Program. He was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and raised in Melbourne, Australia, and is exempt from counting towards the team’s 53-man roster limit due to the International Player Exemption.
Jordan Mailata
An All-Pro, Mailata’s 85.5 PFF overall grade in Week 17 led all offensive tackles and was the highest-graded offensive tackle in the NFL (95.8). Mailata led the NFL in run blocking grade (94.9), and he’s second in pass blocking (91.7), according to PFF.
Lane Johnson
Last season, Johnson ranked 1st among NFL RTs in PFF pass-blocking grade (88.1), pressure percentage (2.2%), and knockdown percentage (0.2%). He allowed zero sacks and 1 QB hit in 451 pass-blocking snaps.
