It’s pretty obvious why the rest of the league didn’t want to trade with the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2025 draft.

As the defending Super Bowl champions and housing the best general manager in the sport, the rest of the league is now locked in a death-grip of sorts to try and find a way to beat Howie Roseman and the Eagles.

If they wanted to use the 2025 draft to do that, though, 31 other teams failed miserably.

Following the completion of the draft The Athletic’s Mike Sando shared a column in which an anonymous executive discussed each team in the NFC. The Eagles were unanimously praised … per usual.

“Campbell, labeled a tone-setting, hammer; by one exec, was the first true linebacker selected (considering Jalon Walker as an edge rusher),” Sando wrote. “Second-rounder Andrew Mukuba was the third safety. Injuries are one risk with Campbell. Positional fit could be another, depending on the coordinator.

“Jihaad Campbell was one of the higher grades I’ve given for a linebacker,” an exec said to Sando. “(Defensive coordinator) Vic Fangio will use (Zack) Baun off the ball and Campbell on the ball, and that is huge. They will be the blitzers in the simulated four-man pressures that Vic runs. It can be like Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman in San Francisco.”

Coming away with multiple starters on the defensive side of the ball after losing so many in free agency was a stroke of genius for Roseman. It also showed that, despite whatever embargo the rest of the league wants to put on Philly, it isn’t going to matter.

Roseman and the team are still going to excel.
