It’s hard to look at the Pittsburgh Steelers picks in the 2025 NFL draft and see many issues. It wasn’t a flashy class by any means and the Steelers didn’t make any splash picks that got draft pundits overly excited. What the Steelers did was find value in positions of need and improve the roster on offense and defense.

CBS Sports named their most questionable pick for every team in the draft and even they admitted it wasn’t easy finding an option for the Steelers. They settled on cornerback Deonte Kent based primarily on a lack of information about the seventh-round pick.

There was not much room to poke holes in Pittsburgh’s draft class. Kent just happens to be the one I know least about. Oregon defensive tackle Derrick Harmon felt like a Steelers pick and there was an intentionality to bring more physicality to the roster with this seven-player draft class.

It’s hard to fault any team’s seventh-round pick but we get why this is the direction CBS Sports took. Honestly, I probably would have doubled down on quarterbacks and taken former Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers with that pick and let him and Will Howard duke it out in training camp.
