OXFORD — Ole Miss women’s basketball coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin put transfer portal rumors connecting her team with South Carolina guard MiLaysia Fulwiley to rest.
In a message on the X platform on April 14, McPhee-McCuin said social media chatter linking Fulwiley to Ole Miss is untrue.
“This is fake news and I’m tired of y’all speaking on our name for no reason!” McPhee-McCuin wrote. “Enough already.”

Fulwileymade splash by entering the transfer portal last week. She will be a major addition when she commits to a new team. Fulwiley was named the SEC Sixth Player of the Year in 2024-25. The 5-foot-10 guard averaged 11.7 points as a sophomore. It was the second-highest scoring average on the team.
Fulwiley won a national championship with the Gamecocks in 2024 and helped them reach the 2025 national championship game. She is from Columbia, South Carolina. Fulwiley was ranked as the No. 13 overall high school player in the class of 2023.
McPhee-McCuin, a self-described “portalista,” has been busy in the portal for Ole Miss. She has already added Cotie McMahon (Ohio State), Latasha Lattimore (Virginia), Jayla Murray (Wichita State), Kaitlin Peterson (UCF) and Tianna Thompson (Georgia Tech). The portal opened on March 25 and closes April 22.
