The Gulf Coast has been hit with record snowfall and brutally cold weather.
Wednesday’s game between the New Orleans Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks at Smoothie King Center has been postponed, the NBA announced.
The game will be rescheduled at a later date.
An historic Gulf Coast winter storm hit the area on Tuesday causing record-breaking snowfall and extremely cold conditions. Nine fatalities have been reported. New Orleans received 10 inches of snow, breaking the record set in 1963 of 2.7 inches.

This is the second NBA game this month that had to be postponed due to extreme winter conditions. The Rockets-Hawks game on Jan. 11 was called off due to weather in the Atlanta area.
Both the Pelicans and Bucks entered Wednesday on four-game winning streaks, but in very different places in the NBA standings as we approach the Feb. 6 trade deadline. New Orleans is 12-32 and 14th in the Western Conference, while Milwaukee sits fourth in the East at 24-17.
LSU-South Carolina game pushed back to Friday
Winter Storm Enzo isn’t just affecting the NBA.
A big matchup in women’s college basketball has been moved back a day due to the Gulf Coast storm. The No. 2 South Carolina Gamecocks were set to host No. 5 LSU on Thursday, but due to travel issues for the Tigers the game will now tip off Friday night at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, S.C.
LSU’s home game Sunday afternoon against Texas A&M remains on, according to the school.
