The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went back to the defensive back well with their third-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
With the 84th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Bucs selected Jacob Parrish to add more depth to their cornerback group. The Kansas State Wildcat played a physical style that Bucs fans will enjoy, and he showed a unique versatility to be able to provide run support, as well as an ability to get to the quarterback and apply pressure.
Jason Licht had a chance to draft a pass rusher in Mike Green, but instead went with Parrish; whether that proves to be a good move is yet to be seen. He still has tomorrow to add to the team’s linebacker and pass rush groups.
As for Parrish, he now gives the Bucs a complete cornerback room as they close out the offseason and get ready to fix what was a horrendous pass coverage unit in 2024.
