CLEVELAND — First baseman Triston Casas and right fielder Wilyer Abreu are not in the Red Sox lineup Sunday.
Right-handed hitters Romy Gonzalez and Rob Refsnyder will play instead with another left-handed starter on the mound for Cleveland.
The Red Sox and Guardians will play the rubber game of their three-game series Sunday at 1:40 p.m. here at Progressive Field after splitting a doubleheader Saturday. Cleveland won the first game, 5-4. Boston took the second game, 7-3, as Jarren Duran became the first Red Sox player with a straight steal of home since Jacoby Ellsbury did it exactly 16 years ago (April 26, 2009) against the Yankees.
Red Sox righty Brayan Bello (1-0, 1.80 ERA) will make his second start of the season. Righty Logan Allen (1-1, 2.11 ERA) will start for Cleveland.
Red Sox hitters haven’t seen much of Allen, combining for just 15 at-bats against him.
Guardians also haven’t seen much of Bello, combining for just four at-bats. José Ramírez is 2-for-2 and Steven Kwan is 1-for-2 with a walk against him.
