Buffalo Bills first-round pick Maxwell Hairston didn’t wait long after being drafted to get acclimated to his quarterback and team captain.

Shortly after being selected with the 30th overall pick, Hairston chopped it up with Josh Allen via FaceTime. Both were ecstatic at the idea of becoming teammates, and the enthusiasm led to the ultimate compliment of Allen from Hairston.

The 21-year-old rookie said that if he ever intercepts Allen in practice, he’s keeping the ball as a memory because Allen is “just that guy”.

When he is inevitably picked off by Hairston in practice, Allen will be able to rejoice in the fact that it will probably lead to real-game interceptions from the rookie in the future.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane loves the skillset and athletic traits that Hairston bring, and if he’s picking off the reigning MVP in practice, it may foreshadow what’s to come from the late first-rounder.

“A guy like Max, you don’t know that he’s going to fall that far,” said Beane, according to Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. “We had him in for a 30 visit, we’ve been around him a few times… great young man. He’ll add, obviously, speed to our DB room and we think he’ll pair well with what we already have.”
