The Houston Texans have their new slot receiver to take over games in Iowa State star Jaylin Noel. The hope is he’ll become a chain-moving machine and impact on special teams for the AFC South champions by the end of the 2025 season.
A former All-Big 12 receiver, Noel ran a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash at the combine and had a 41.5-inch vertical jump, which ranked No. 1 among receivers at the combine. He was also one of college football’s top weapons, totaling 80 catches for 1,194 yards and eight touchdowns in his final season at Iowa State.
Noel, who finished his college career with 245 receptions for 2855 yards and 18 touchdown receptions, was one of the better wide receivers left on the board. Serving as a safety net for Rocco Becht, the 5-foot-10 shifty option should provide the same value in Houston.
