Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is one of the most notable No. 1 overall draft picks of the modern NFL.
After one of the best college seasons ever, Burrow joined the Bengals and led a hometown team to its first playoff win and Super Bowl appearance in decades.
But Burrow’s efforts so far aren’t enough to rank him as the top No. 1 overall draft pick since 2000. CBS Sports’ Bryan DeArdo slots Burrow fourth on such a list, at least for right now:
“Sure, he hasn’t won a Super Bowl or a league MVP (he finished fourth in the voting last year behind winner Josh Allen), but Burrow has done just about everything else a player can do and has more than justified his status as a former No. 1 overall pick. A Super Bowl win would likely leapfrog him ahead of the only three players that are currently ahead of him on this list.”

On the list, Burrow finished behind Cam Newton, Matthew Stafford and Eli Manning, a trio of quarterbacks with Super Bowl appearances of their own and long lists of accomplishments — on franchises that desperately needed quarterbacks to come in and help turn them around, too.
The fun thing about a list like this for Bengals fans? Burrow is still under 30 years old and has plenty of time to keep climbing it, especially after his MVP-like season last year.
