The biggest addition for the Chicago Bears this offseason is undoubtedly Ben Johnson, who brings an aura to a franchise in need of a real leader at the head coaching position.

Not only will Johnson look to reignite a passionate fanbase, but he’ll be responsible for taking quarterback Caleb Williams to the next level and turn him into the franchise quarterback they’ve been missing.

With the offseason program kicking off this week, the work has started and Williams is already feeling the challenge. Meeting with the media on Tuesday, Williams spoke about his first day meeting with his new head coach and how Johnson has challenge the quarterback room from the get-go.

“We had our first quiz in the QB room, we had talked about a few things yesterday and gone over a few things, and Ben walked in this morning, flung open the door, made a grand entrance and we got to work, him testing us about what we talked about yesterday,” Williams said. “Already first day in and they’re already challenging us and everybody loves a challenge in this sport. It’s one of the great things about the sport, every day is a challenge and today we got our first one.”

There is an obvious change in culture inside Halas Hall and for Williams, with the arrival of Ben Johnson, it feels beyond welcoming. Chicago will only go as far as Williams and Johnson take them, so the quarterback-head coach relationship is going to be pivotal to their short-term and long-term success moving forward.
